1665
William Nickerson brings family to Monomoyick aka Chatham. Conducted Sabbath services in his home
Only other church on Cape Cod was in Eastham, a 13 Mile trip

First meeting house constructed. Not too much info known about this building
· 1697
Mr. Jonathan Vickery becomes the first preacher -Fisherman by trade. Didn’t have formal theological training (wasn’t ordained)
· 1700
Second meeting house constructed February 15 1700 - decided to build a meeting house during a village meeting
Located near “Great Hill”,Highest point in Chatham (131Ft)
Timber came locally where as planed boards came from New Hampshire due to lack of mills on Cape
Small plain square building
April 30 1702 Jonathan Vickery drowns during a fishing trip. Leaves a widow and seven kids.
June 15 1720 Church officially organized
· 1729
Second meeting house is enlarged. Lasted about 100 years
Receives further additions in 1773
Torn down in 1830 and sold in parts to various people around town
· 1830
Current meeting house constructed at a location known as union cemetery, 3 Miles away. Cost $ 2,920 to build
· 1831
Pews and bell introduced
· 1866
Current church remodeled and moved to current location
· July 15 1887
Steeple struck by lightening. Quickly repaired for ships
· 1961
Annex building added
Church becomes affiliated with the UCC
· Chandelier - 1848

· Communion table - over 300 years old
· Paul Revere communion set
